2 major US airlines strike deal to share miles, frequent flyer rewards – Hawaii News Now

(CNN) – The Department of Transportation has approved a previously announced partnership between United Airlines and JetBlue Airways.
The program, called Blue Sky, allows reciprocal frequent flyer benefits between the two airlines.
Frequent flyers will be able to earn and use miles for either airline’s loyalty program on most flights.
The Blue Sky benefit program is not related to the social media platform of the same name.
The reciprocal perks starting date hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected to begin in phases this fall.
Perks include priority boarding, access to preferred and extra legroom seats, and same-day flight changes.
