So far, Donald Trump has hit some of his favourite talking points in Michigan.
He’s spoken about his efforts to clamp down on immigration into the US, his predecessor Joe Biden as well as taking shots at courts that have held up parts of his legislative agenda.
Here are some of the latest images from his speech:
Donald Trump now speaks about Kamala Harris, who he says was a “great” presidential candidate.
The comment receives a small smatter of applause, but also a lot of booing from the crowd.
He says Harris was appointed Joe Biden’s “border czar” but nobody at the border “knew a damn thing about her”.
Trump adds that, if Harris won the election, her administration would be “importing the next 10 million invaders and giving amnesty to 30-40 million illegals”.
Trump turns his attention to cut tax-cut bill, pressing members of his own party to help it pass.
There are internal divisions over one of the key parts of the president’s legislative agenda – a landmark tax-cut bill they hope to enact by 4 July.
The US president seemed to suggest he wasn’t totally confident in complete support for the bill from his own party, saying: “It would be nice if we had just a couple of Democrats just to make sure, because, you know, every once in a while you have a grandstander, a Republican.”
He told his crowds to “remember who those grandstanders are” and “vote them the hell out of office”.
House and Senate Republicans recently only barely managed to pass a budget resolution, working into the early hours of the morning to do so.
It reflects a legislative fragility that the US president’s words often cover up.
Despite his landslide victory, and the struggles of the Democrats to effectively oppose him, much of Trump’s agenda has been held up in the courts so far.
And it seems not to be moving much faster in Congress either.
Trump says his administration has delivered the “most profound change in Washington in nearly 100 years”.
He says he read an editorial earlier today praising him for the “most consequential presidency in history”.
“How about that? And it wasn’t even by a group that would normally be supporting us,” he says.
“It was a group of people that I think they tend to be on the liberal side. But they said it’s the most important election that changed it all.”
“Hello Michigan, we love you Michigan,” Trump says as he takes to the stage at the Macomb Community College in Detroit.
He says the Republican Party won the state twice (in 2016 and 2024) before saying they “actually won it three times” in reference to Joe Biden’s 2020 victory which Trump falsely claims was stolen from him.
“We’re here tonight in the heartland of our nation to celebrate the most successful first 100 days of any administration in the history of our country.”
“We’re just getting started,” he adds. “You haven’t seen anything yet.”
Trump says his administration is “saving the American dream” thanks to the policies he’s enacted during his first 100 days.
“What the world has witnessed in the past 14 weeks is a revolution of common sense. That’s all it is.”
Donald Trump has just arrived in Michigan for his rally marking 100 days as president.

A little earlier today, the US Senate voted 59-38 to confirm billionaire investment banker Warren Stephens to be Donald Trump’s ambassador to the UK.
Stephens is chairman, president, and CEO of Stephens Inc, a privately owned financial services firm headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He is a longtime contributor to Republican candidates, including Trump, having donated millions of dollars to support his campaigns and 2025 inauguration fund.
Donald Trump called Mark Carney today to congratulate the Canadian leader on yesterday’s election win, Carney’s office said in a statement.
“The leaders agreed on the importance of Canada and the United States working together – as independent, sovereign nations – for their mutual betterment. To that end, the leaders agreed to meet in person in the near future,” it said.
Carney styled himself during the Canadian election as the man who could take on Trump, who has repeatedly said he wants to make Canada the 51st US state.
Donald Trump has signed executive orders which will ease the impact of his tariffs on US carmakers.
It comes as the president heads to Michigan – home to Ford, General Motors and Stellantis – for a rally marking his first 100 days in office.
The auto industry has been plunged into uncertainty since Trump announced 25% tariffs on cars and car parts last month.
The new changes will allow carmakers with US factories to reduce the amount they pay in import taxes on foreign parts, using a formula tied to how many cars they sell and the price.
“We just wanted to help [automakers] enjoy this little transition, short-term,” Trump said of the order.
“If they can’t get parts, you know, it has to do with a very small percentage. If they can’t get parts, we didn’t want to penalise them.”
Donald Trump offered some warm praise for Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer during his speech, saying the Democrat has “done a very good job” at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
Whitmer is seen by many as a potential future leader of the Democrats in the US, and a presidential contender.
She approached Trump alongside other politicians and military staff to request his administration step in and support the base with new investment.
“In recent years, many in Michigan have feared for the future of the base. They’ve been calling everybody, but the only one that mattered is Trump,” the president said. “Today I have come in person to lay to rest any doubt about Selfridge’s future.”
In a nod to partisan politics, Trump admitted it was unusual to have the Democrat alongside him, but praised her efforts.
“You know, I’m not supposed to do that – she’s a Democrat, they say, ‘Don’t do that, don’t have her here,'” he said.
“I said, ‘No, she’s going to be here.’ She’s done a very good job, frankly, and she was very much involved with the Republicans, they worked together on saving it, and it was not easy.”
