Donald Trump Jr.’s new girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, stirred speculation this week after appearing at Tiffany Trump’s baby shower, a pastel-hued event hosted by Ivanka Trump.
The Peter Rabbit-themed celebration, held Sunday, wasn’t just about welcoming Tiffany’s baby, it also offered an inside look at the ever-complicated Trump family dynamics.
Anderson, a Palm Beach socialite, stood out in a powder-blue floral dress as she posed with Lara Trump, Tiffany, and Ivanka in an Instagram story shared by Lara. Culture watchers were quick to point out that the post signaled Anderson’s unofficial “acceptance” into the family’s elite MAGA circle.
However, not everyone in the family seemed as welcoming.
Though she made a few appearances in Instagram Stories, Anderson was missing from any permanent feed photos shared by Ivanka or Tiffany. Most notably, she didn’t appear in a “sisters only” photo Ivanka posted, which featured just herself, Lara, and the expectant mom.
Anderson has been dating Trump Jr. since late last year, reportedly while he was still engaged to longtime partner Kimberly Guilfoyle. Unlike Guilfoyle, a known political powerhouse and a staple at Trump events—Anderson is a fresh face with little MAGA history, and insiders say her presence has ruffled feathers.
While Guilfoyle was often front and center in Trump family moments, Anderson remains on the fringe. Some media outlets have hinted that Ivanka previously had little patience for Guilfoyle either. At Tiffany’s 2022 wedding, Ivanka infamously cropped Guilfoyle out of a group photo she later posted. Guilfoyle, wearing a bold black dress, stood out from the pastel-colored crowd—possibly clashing with Ivanka’s aesthetic preferences.
This time, Anderson seemed to follow the unofficial style code to a T. Her look, in line with the shower’s color palette, was likely a strategic move, especially considering the Trump family's tendency to prioritize optics.
Despite her polished appearance and Palm Beach pedigree, New York Magazine described her as a “to-the-manor-born WASP”—not everyone’s convinced she’s a long-term fixture. Critics argue that Anderson isn’t politically aligned enough with MAGA values, and some fear she’s just another social climber using Trump Jr. as a stepping stone.
One Trump insider put it bluntly: “It’s one thing to bring drama to Mar-a-Lago. It’s another to bring it to the White House.”
