Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71. At the time of his death, he had been estranged from his daughter Brooke for several years.
Brooke Ellen Oleksy, who adopted her father's stage name 'Hogan' as her last name, first came into the spotlight through the reality television show 'Hogan Knows Best,' which premiered on VH1 in 2005 and followed the lives of the WWE star and his family.
Along with being a reality TV star, Brooke is also a singer, actress, model, and entrepreneur whose net worth is reportedly between $4 and $8 million. She and her husband, former NHL player Steven Olesky, live in Tampa, Florida, with their six-month-old twins.
In March, Brooke to Instagram to explain the status of her relationship with her parents. "I try very hard to ignore issues surrounding my family in hopes I might have peace in my life," she wrote. "Sadly, I've intentionally made myself smaller in my professional career in music and TV simply to dodge the public negativity surrounding my family that has continuously and relentlessly overshadowed anything I do."
"I have completely separate reasons for going no contact with each of my parents," the 36-year-old explained. "No contact with my mom has nothing to do with my dad, and no contact with my father has nothing to do with my mother. … This decision was made based purely on how they have each dealt with me my entire life."
Amid the success of her family's reality show, Brooke launched her music career with her 2006 debut album 'Undiscovered,' which was documented on the series. The album's single, 'About Us', achieved moderate success, though her follow-up album 'Redemption' failed to take off commercially.
After the release of her first album, she joined the Backstreet Boys and Hilary Duff on tour. She has continued to make music, releasing four new singles in 2024. The mother of two has worked behind the scenes in the music industry as a songwriter for other artists.
She had her own spin-off reality series, 'Brooke Knows Best,' which ran from 2008 to 2009. Later, she tried her hand at acting, appearing in the movies '2 Headed Shark' and 'L.A. Slasher.' In 2012, she followed in her father's footsteps and signed with TNA Wrestling and made several appearances on WWE.
In 2012, she purchased a townhome in Westlake Village, California for $725,000, which she still owns today. Its worth is now estimated to be around $1.5 million.
Brooke has also worked as a model and came out with a line of clothing, 'Brooke & the Boys.' In 2018, she launched her business, BB Designs by Brooke, which specializes in Airbnb interior design.
In 2022, she married former NHL player Steven Oleksy. Her family were not involved in their wedding. She gave birth to twins Oliver Andrew and Molly Gene on January 15, 2025.
Brooke has not made any statement regarding the death of her estranged father.
