Ebuebu and Toriola
The Director General National Broadcasting Commission NBC, Charles Ebuebu, recently visited the CEO of MTN, Karl Olutokun Toriola, and charted pathways on collaboration in the areas of digital broadcasting, content delivery and Digital Switch Over (DSO) project.
During the visit, the DG lauded MTN for its contributions to the growth and development of the telecommunications industry in Nigeria. He acknowledged the company’s efforts in promoting digital inclusion and expanding access to mobile services across the country.
The DG also discussed areas of collaboration and partnership between the Commission and MTN, particularly, in the areas of broadcasting content delivery and digital broadcasting, with special emphasis on the DSO project.
Speaking further, Ebuebu stressed the importance of cooperation and collaboration between regulators and operators in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries.
To him, such partnerships are essential for promoting innovation, driving growth, and ensuring that Nigerians have access to high-quality broadcasting and telecommunications services.
Responding, Toriola expressed readiness to work with the commission in order to advance the interests of the broadcasting and telecommunications industries in Nigeria.
The visit was part of the NBC DG’s ongoing efforts to engage with stakeholders in the broadcasting and telecommunications industries, to promote collaboration and partnership between regulators and operators.
