Former Labour Party, (LP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi met with ex-Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Obi and El-Rufai met in the United States on the sidelines of the 11th Annual Cambridge Africa Together Conference, ATC, holding at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge.
El-Rufai was listed as one of the speakers at the conference, which brings together African leaders, scholars, and change makers.
They were spotted having a conversation.
Though the details of their conversation remain unknown, the images from the event have sparked discussions, especially because both men are seen as influential voices in Nigeria’s political future.
While Obi ran under the Labour Party in the last presidential election, El-Rufai, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), to the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), is believed to be politically aligned with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Both politicians joined Atiku Abubakar in announcing the formation of an opposition coalition.
The coalition is aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu from power in 2023.
