Texas Tech Continues to Earn High Marks in Best Graduate School Rankings | April 2025 – Texas Tech University

Texas Tech University’s Graduate School continues to improve in the 2025-26 U.S. News & World Report rankings, with notable advancements in several programs across multiple colleges. The Rawls College of Business, School of Law, College of Education and Whitacre College of Engineering all saw improved rankings, with Texas Tech’s petroleum engineering program securing a Top 10 spot for the second consecutive year.
U.S. News & World Report released its 2025-26 Best Graduate Programs rankings, and the Graduate School at Texas Tech University continues to earn high rankings and show improvement in several areas.
“These rankings affirm the growing prominence of Texas Tech’s graduate programs,” said Mark Sheridan, dean of the Graduate School. “High-quality graduate programs are essential to research and innovation, and to providing the highly skilled workforce needed for the economic vitality of Texas and the nation.”
The graduate programs in the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business saw improvement in their rankings for the second consecutive year. The full-time MBA program jumped 11 spots to No. 92 while the part-time MBA program leapt seven spots to No. 80, putting it in the top third of schools ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
Also ranking among the top third of programs surveyed is the College of Education, which enters this year’s rankings at No. 81.
Additionally, recognized is the School of Law, which made the list at No. 88 and ranked in the top half of schools recognized. In addition to the overall ranking for the law school, 13 programs within the School of Law also made the list, including six that improved their marks from a year ago:

The Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering was ranked No. 117, highlighted by seven programs ranked within the top 100 and five that improved their mark from last year. Included is Texas Tech’s highest ranking of all its programs with petroleum engineering at No. 10, making the top 10 for the second straight year. Other engineering rankings include:
Texas Tech also debuted in a new ranking in this year’s U.S. News & World Report release, coming in at No. 129 in Public Affairs.
