There is a risk of detonation of debris — the SES warned Ukrainians – 112.ua

Rescuers advise not to tempt fate and not to leave the shelter immediately after the alarm ends. This is explained by the SES spokesperson – Oleksandr Khorunzhyi. He says there may be debris that can explode.
Khorunzhyi recommends conducting commercial inspections of buildings that have been hit by drones or missiles. This will help determine whether it is safe to live there. He explained that such inspections assess the integrity of the building structures.
It is also advised to remain in the shelter after the alarm is over, as there may be more attacks.
‘Therefore, there is such advice, you need to wait for some Time to make sure the danger has passed. This is about 15 minutes’, — said Khorunzhyi.
You should also be careful of combustion products and explosive parts that may be hostile objects. Khorunzhyi urges to call 101 and 102 if you find a suspicious object.
‘There have been cases when after the attack, people found cluster elements, these are balls the size of 10 cm, they are dangerous and can explode at any moment’, — he added.
The Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko stated that in July 2025 there were more than 4300 shelters in the capital.
Head of KVA Timur Tkachенко previously criticized the city hall, stating that the residents have no place to hide from alarms.
In the event of military attacks and debris or drone hits, rescuers advise not to leave the shelter immediately after the alarm ends. By conducting inspections of buildings and being attentive to surrounding objects, one can avoid danger to their life and health.
