U.S. News & World Report, a media company that publishes rankings, consumer analysis and news, has released its 2025 list of the best hotels in Reno.
The company uses expert opinion, guest reviews, award recognition and hotel star ratings to determine its hotel rankings.
Here’s which hotel U.S. News & World Report named the best in Reno — and the seven runners-up — for this year.
Atlantis Casino Resort Spa took the No. 1 spot in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 ranking of the best hotels in Reno.
The outlet noted the Atlantis’ “fully loaded casino, a children’s arcade and a full-service spa and salon” as upsides to staying at the hotel. U.S. News & World Report also listed its pool, “decadent and cozy” rooms with flat-screen TVs and in-room coffee, complimentary airport pickup, fitness center and unique restaurants as highlights of the south-of-midtown resort.
“Beware, though, as staying here can be expensive, especially when taking the nightly resort fee into account,” U.S. News & World Report said.
A double queen-sized room at the Atlantis costs about $136 to $151 after taxes as of Wednesday, April 23, according to Expedia. Prices for the same type of room this upcoming weekend and the following one range from $109 to $414. However, room prices can vary depending on the time of year and events happening in Reno.
The Atlantis is also one of several casinos in town that offer discounts for locals and other seasonal promotions throughout the year.

Resort fees are nightly surcharges hotels use to cover the cost of amenities like pools, transportation, Wi-Fi and fitness centers. These fees are often added during checkout and can surprise guests who aren’t anticipating the extra charges.
According to Kayak, resort fees are around $30 per night at hotels that charge them. At the Atlantis, the fee is $40 per night.
Some casinos in Reno are connected. If you’re visiting the Biggest Little City and want to hop between casinos without a car, The Row in downtown Reno might be your best bet. The Silver Legacy, Circus Circus and the Eldorado are all linked.
The GSR, Nugget, Atlantis and Peppermill are located in other parts of the city and aren’t connected to any other casino or hotel. However, Atlantis and Peppermill are near each other.
