He loves the game, but how many golf courses does Donald Trump own?
The Trump Organization has put pen to paper on their latest golf resort project.
Headed up by US president Donald Trump and run by his eldest sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr, the development will be built in Simaisma, around 45 minutes north of Qatar’s capital city of Doha.
According to real estate company Qatari Diar, the latest Trump International project, back by the government, will feature a series of residential villas, a theme park and a marina, as well as an 18-hole golf course.
In a statement, Eric Trump said: “We are incredibly proud to expand the Trump brand into Qatar through this exceptional collaboration with Qatari Diar and Dar Global.
“Trump International Golf Club Simaisma and our luxury villa community will reflect our highest standards of quality.”
These are the golf courses and resorts that the Trump Organization currently owns and manages:
From 2015 to 2023, the Trump Organization operated the public golf course at Ferry Point in New York, which they renamed Trump Links.
In 2021, then New York mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city’s government would be terminating the contract due to Trump’s involvement in the riots at the US Capitol. The government also said the Trump Organization had defaulted in their contractual obligation because it had failed to bring a major golf tournament to the course.
In retaliation, the Trump Organization sued New York City for wrongful termination and were allowed to continue operating the course while the case was pending.
In April 2023, it was ruled that “the city had not given a valid legal reason for ending the contract” and a year later the Trump Organization sold the operating rights to the Bally’s Corporation, a gaming and entertainment company, who renamed it Bally’s Links.
