Pennsylvania has ranked near the bottom of the list of the best states in the nation, according to a new ranking recently published by the U.S. News & World Report.
The Best States rankings measured how well states are performing for their citizens across eight categories: Health Care, Education, Natural Environment, Opportunity, Economy, Crime and Corrections, Infrastructure, and Fiscal Stability.
The Keystone State came among the bottom ten states, placing at No. 41 overall.
It had its best showing in the Health Care category, where it placed eleventh, with just around seven percent of adults between 19 and 64 years old not having health insurance.
Pennsylvania also ranked in the upper half of the list in Crime and Corrections, placing at No. 17.
The state came in at No. 29 in Opportunity, followed by Economy at No. 38, and Fiscal Stability and Education, both coming in at No. 39.
Pennsylvania had its worst showings in both Natural Environment at No. 40 and Infrastructure at No. 43.
