A US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet has fallen overboard costing more than roughly $60 million. The jet is now lost at sea after falling from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier while it was being towed on board. Veuer’s Chloe Hurst has the story!
Former Wahkiakum High School student Ellie Wiltse-Hiatt graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in English and a commission as an ensign in the U.S. Navy.
As a student, Wiltse-Hiatt participated in women’s softball and women’s soccer, and attended flight school at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
The U.S. Naval Academy is a four-year service academy that prepares students, called midshipmen, to be professional officers. About 1,200 students are admitted per year. Graduates will go on to serve at least five years as commissioned officers in the Navy or Marine Corps.
