The Stillman School of Business’ part-time M.B.A. program has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report’s 2025 Best Graduate Schools as No. 68 in the nation — climbing five spots this year and 16 over the past two years. The ranking places Stillman firmly in the top tier of business schools nationally and in the state and among the top 5 private universities in the tri-state area — New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Seton Hall is also listed among the top 15 Catholic universities in the country.
“The continued recognition of our M.B.A. program among the best in the nation and the rise of 5 places in our ranking since last year are both strong external validations of the high quality of Stillman’s curriculum, faculty and students,” said Joyce Strawser, Ph.D., dean of the Stillman School. “Our program’s success is a credit to the faculty’s dedication to providing relevant and impactful learning experiences as well as the support and contributions of our alumni partners, who serve on advisory boards, enhance classroom experiences and offer valuable professional mentoring and connections for our students and graduates.”
Earlier this year, the Stillman School of Business reaffirmed its elite status with dual AACSB accreditation in business and accounting, remaining among the fewer than 2 percent of business schools worldwide to hold both distinctions. In addition, the school’s M.S. in Accounting program earned endorsement by IMA — Institute of Management Accountants — one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession.
Factored into the 2025 U.S. News rankings are a peer assessment score, part-time student ratio, part-time student total, median GMAT scores, average months of work experience and — one of our stronger categories — undergraduate GPA, which is 3.5 for graduate students entering the program this year. This compares very favorably against the median undergraduate GPA of 3.38 for all schools and a median undergraduate GPA of 3.36 for the top 25 schools (view all methodology here).
The program’s flexibility is especially appealing to working professionals, with evening classes and multiple delivery formats including on-campus, online and hybrid options. One example is the seven-week course structure, which allows students to tailor their schedules around personal and professional demands. “You can take a seven-week course at the beginning of the fall and then step out for the second half if needed — focus on work or family — and come back in January,” said Strawser. “That kind of flexibility is key for our graduate students and we designed the program with their needs in mind.”
With a focus on applied learning, the bookends of the 40-credit program begin with the “M.B.A. Launch Experience,” an immersive two-day program, and conclude with a team-consulting project with real client engagement. In between, students are taught real-world business principles via the utilization of a “spotlight company” and choose from among eight specializations while being taught by dedicated, top-notch faculty and practice partners from Fortune 500 organizations.
